  • Nilgal are the largest Asian antelope.


  • A disturbing video of a nilgai being buried alive in Bihar a couple of days ago has angered majority of social media users. The antelope was mercilessly pushed into a pit and covered with earth with a JCB machine.


  • As per reports, nilgai are being killed by farmers in Bihar’s Vaishali district because they have been allegedly damaging crops.


  • Nilgai are also referred as to blue bulls. We take a look.


  • It is endemic to the Indian subcontinent, with high populations in India, Nepal, and Pakistan; and extinct in Bangladesh.



  • In the 1920s, they were introduced in Texas, US. The following decades saw an increase in feral populations.



  • Sexual dimorphism is the condition where the two sexes of the same species exhibit different characteristics beyond the differences in their sexual organs.
