Kalanag or ‘black peak’ which rises to a height of 6387 m is one of the major peaks in the Bunderpunch mountain range. It literally means ‘black Cobra’ .It is situated close to the Runsara valley. The summit of the peak resembles the head of a black cobra. It probably derives its religious significance from its resemblance to the cobra winch is widely revered by the Hindus.
